Trustees: Bullitt Reservation to Chapel Brook Waterfall Hike

Come explore the local forests with a knowledgeable guide. On this Adventure you will have the opportunity to explore two astounding Trustees properties! Chapel Brook—a tributary of the South River— meanders through a dense hardwood forest before cascading over three bedrock ledges. In times of high water, Chapel Falls are in full roar. Bullitt Reservation, once a poor farm and then later part of the country retreat of first U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union, William C. Bullitt, and his daughter Ann, this eye-pleasing blend of fields and farm buildings, mixed woodlands, and streams forms a crucial link in almost 3,000 acres of protected land that shelters state-protected species. This moderate 3.5-mile journey is sure to be a true adventure! Time spent in nature has been proven to improve cognitive and mental health benefits, as well as improvements in mood and emotional well-being. Let's go on an adventure and reconnect with nature!

“Reciprocity is rooted in the understanding that we are not alone, that the Earth is populated by non-human persons, wise and inventive beings deserving of our respect.” Robin Wall Kimmerer
