Welcome to our Introductory Kayaking Course! This 2-hour session is perfect for beginners looking to explore the joys of kayaking on calm, flat water. Whether you're paddling on a serene lake or a protected coastal area, our course is designed to make you feel comfortable and confident on the water.

What to Expect

Safety First: We start with a comprehensive safety briefing, covering the proper use of life jackets and other essential gear. You'll learn how to assess weather conditions and potential hazards, along with basic self-rescue techniques to ensure a safe experience.

Get to Know Your Gear: Our instructors will introduce you to the kayak and paddle, showing you how to adjust and use your equipment properly. Understanding your gear is crucial for a smooth and enjoyable kayaking experience.

Master the Basics: You'll learn fundamental paddling strokes, including forward, backward, and turning techniques. We'll teach you efficient paddling methods to help you conserve energy and enjoy longer trips on the water. You'll also practice bracing techniques to prevent capsizing.

Maneuver with Confidence: Gain the skills to control and steer your kayak with ease. Our instructors will guide you through techniques for stopping and changing direction smoothly, ensuring you can navigate any situation.

Plan Your Adventure: Learn how to plan a safe kayaking trip, including the importance of a float plan and Leave No Trace principles. This knowledge will help you prepare for future kayaking adventures with confidence.
