With literally thousands of miles of trails on both state and private conservation lands to explore, we offer trail walks with naturalists, snowshoeing, forest bathing, yoga in the woods, cultural and historical tours, bird watching, and good old-fashioned hikes. Our hiking experiences vary in skill level, accommodating those looking for a challenge as well as folks who are interested in an activity that the entire family can easily enjoy. Many of our hikes include trips to sites for camping or for lunch on the trail.

“…a union of the picturesque, the sublime, and the magnificent.” - Thomas Cole

The Mount Holyoke Range is part of the Metacomet Ridge that extends from the Long Island Sound through Connecticut and Massachusetts up to the Vermont border.  It's unique in that is one of the few mountain ranges in the United States that runs east-west.

A hike along the ridge line is a great introduction to your explorations of the Connecticut River Valley. Cliff top viewpoints provide excellent spots to relax and soak in the abundance of open space and greenery in the valley.

Join us for an exciting evening under the stars as we climb to the top of Norwottuck Mountain on the Mount Holyoke Range in Amherst to soak up the rays of the full moon.
We'll start our hike at the new Kestrel Land Trust headquarters located at the foot of the beautiful Mount Holyoke Range, where we will climb for approximately an hour and a half before arriving to the top of Norwottuck. Once there, we will stop to take in the iconic views and watch the moon rise over the Pelham Hills.

This is an all-levels yoga experience in the beautiful woods on the protected lands of Mount Warner. Mount Warner sits nestled among 500 acres of protected land and overlooks the Connecticut River Valley, providing us with a perfect place to enjoy the sounds, sights, and smells of nature through an embodied exploration of mindfulness, movement, breath, and the senses. Immerse yourself in the flower-filled surroundings as your guide, Max, takes you through a reflective walk in the woods to a clearing, where we will practice yoga.

Adventure East would like to invite Western Massachusetts families to discover the outdoors with one of our partners, Eagle Eye Institute. Eagle Eye has 30 years of experience introducing people to the outdoors and we are sure that you will be more excited than ever to do more outdoor activities after this meaningful learning experience.

This is a fun filled day of activities at their beautiful MountainStar Forest property in Peru, Massachusetts. Here you will gain a deeper appreciation for forest plants, trees, and wildlife, and discover the calmness from being surrounded by nature.

Saturday, 10/02/2021

Spend the day with us on an outing at Lake Warner that will take us paddling and hiking, followed by an opportunity to enjoy some of the valley's local food and craft ciders.

Located in North Hadley, Lake Warner is under the stewardship of the Friends of Lake Warner, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of both the Mill River and Lake Warner. When you arrive, you will be welcomed by Jason Johnson, their Executive Director, who will provide us with a brief, but fascinating, history of the 68-acre lake before we launch our canoes.
